I have heard nothing from them since their last posting on 9/22. That's a long silence. I hope things are OK, too.

There is NO WAY Mtn Goat could stay quiet for that long if nothing was wrong....

I am heading up there tomorrow and will stay until Tuesday. Hoping I will figure out what is going on. I miss the news from the mountain.

No reports from the Mtn. is becoming a mystery. However, early in Sept. on Mtn. News, Mtngoat said she would be going to Oakfield, Maine on Oct. 3rd to tend to family matters I assume. My wife and I visited them on Sept. 13th and Ridgerunner said he would be taking Mtngoat to Oakfield on Oct. 3rd and he would return home. Then 5 days later he would go back to pick her up and return this weekend. (Oct 9 or 10). However that doesn't explain thier AWOL status since Sept. 22nd. Hopefully, we will get a report soon.

I swung by the mountain this morning and found noone about. Hydiseka and I are having breakfast at Happy Corner tomorrow (Sunday) AM before they head back to Pennsylvania. They have been up the last week so perhaps they know something. I'll report what I find out, if I can. As they say in Germany, "sehr merkwuerdig!"

I had breakfast with John and Norma at Happy Corner this AM before they headed home to Pennsylvania. Nice to meet them face to face. Had a nice chat and who walks in but Pete. He joined us and I kept him company after John and Norma had to hit the road. All is fine. Pete got home from Maine late last night and Lainie is still there. Everybody is busy. Know the feeling.

Sorry to be causing such a stir. Busy up here getting ready for winter and trying to find work. Spent a great week with John and Norma. We went up Stub Hill and found 4 moose sheds. Norma just called and they made it back to Pa. without any problems. MtnGoat is still up in Oakfield and will be there till next Sunday. I will be going up Friday and spend the weekend. So, yes, there is still life on the mountain!!!

Made it home last night in record time--had to create our own speed limit to do it, though! It was great meeting you, too, Woodman. Would have also been able to meet Mrs. and CTSkidoo had they not bailed out of town following the meeting! We drove around Back Lake Thursday night with Pete and Lainie in tow, but it was during the meeting. Tried again on Friday afternoon, but you were already gone! Maybe next time... The weather could have been a little more cooperative while we were there. Think: 15 minutes of sunshine 15 minutes of rain times 9 days. It was a little wet... to say the least. Glad we got to spend some time with MtnGoat and Ridgerunner and meeting Woodman--wish we could do it more than once a year!

Yep we were at the meeting a little early for the potluck dinner. It was pretty good. Armand sat next to us.
Sorry we missed you. It was a very short trip for us as we had to be back to CT for a sled show we were doing for PRR memberships and merchandise.
I want to put my dibs in on a guided tour to find some sheds! I have yet to find even one!
I didn't know either MtnGoat/Rdgerunner were around or you guys!. We had nothing really to do during thursday afternoon.

Glad you got back to PA in good shape. It was a treat to me you and Norma. And to see Pete again. Sorry to miss Lainie this time around, but I will probably be back up in January for some snow trekking. Went up into Tuckerman Ravine on Mt. Washington today. Beautiful weather but chilly. We are suppose to get 2-4 inches of snow in Pittsburg tonight. Could make my escape back to Manchester tomorrow interesting.

It was nice to see the snow when I awoke yesterday AM in Pittsburg. Beautiful to look at. The roads were clear and I had no problem driving south. Had snow until Franconia Notch. Then just a little rain with no accumulation south of there. Manchester was sunny and in the 50s. Mid 60s when I landed in Baltimore at 6:30pm. Now it's only in the 40s in DC this AM and suppose to stay chilly for the next few days. Hated to leave up north. I always do.
