Wow - Look long and hard at the photo of Cowan Hill Camp.... doesn't that green grass look awesome? and if you peek to the far right, you'll see the Honda Foreman bumblebee.... I'm looking forward to the ATV trails and an overnighter at Jericho Mountain State Park in Gorham, NH....

Just a little history about the Cowan Hill Camp....
It's on Perry Stream Land and Timber Co. property - owned (or probably leased) for many generations by the Covill family and is maintained by Roger Covill to this day.
Everyone is welcome to go in, sign the guestbook located on the picnic table ---- which has been signed by snowmobilers, ATV'ers, as well as drifters passing through. Leave the camp as you found it and close it up tight when you go, preserving the Covill generosity for years to come.
From the Farr Road pit, continue straight on Farr Road a few miles and when you come to the 'Y', bear left. Travel several more miles and come to a junction where you'll want to take a right. Go a few more miles, watching for the short drive into the camp.
To actually climb the rugged and steep trail over Cowan Hill, continue past the drive into camp and watch for a trail on the left. Starts out mellow but you get the full effect when you descend on the other side.... beautiful scenery going either direction!

Actually, Mr. Flatlander (your magesty)... I tried to find out where the name came from and my google search brought me to Views From the Top, in which I'm a member.... no mention was made as to where the name came from but they had a trivia back in 2006....here's the link.... www.vftt.org/forums/showthread.php?14551-Mystery-Mountains-in-the-Great-North-WoodsRoySwkr has stayed at the Mountain Bungalow up on Prospect and Papa Bear is well aquainted with the CT. You could PM Papa Bear, Roy or Spencer - I'm sure one of them would know....

Hmmmmm Today is Wednesday, and Wednesday is Trivia Day, is it not? "Off The Mtn News" says that work demands at the "Butt Rub Pub" have dropped of dramatically. So I don't see what the problem is..... Perhaps we need to start searching for a more reliable trivia manager....... What say you PMW gang ?
