Denied an E2 Visa back into the States

>:( Some things gets my dander up and this is one of them:

Le Rendez-Vous in Colebrook makes the best bread and French Baguettes on planet earth....everybody agree? Well in case you didn't read about it in the papers...here's the scoop!

Verlaine Daeron and Marc Ounis opened up Le Rendez-Vous Bakery a couple of years back (not sure which year). Verlaine is a resident of Paris, France and Marc became a US citizen last year. Verlaine actually owns the business and had to have an E2 Visa to operate the business in the US. She went back to France to renew her Visa and they denied her. They will only give her a regular Visa to come back to sell or close her business stating that her business was only 'Marginal'.

Well, Well....isn't that amazing!....Here the country is on the brink of a major recession and Coos County is experiencing the rippling effects of mills closing and numerous other closures and they think a Bakery business or any other business for that matter are going to be thriving? NOT SO!.... If they are operating a 'Marginal' business then in my opinion, they are doing exceptionally well....Oh, and not to mention that when they hosted the Winter Warmers Concert Series in Colebrook, Verlaine donated all of the desserts to the patrons and performers. Shame on her - she should've sold them and maybe that would've pushed them over the 'Marginal' mark!

For anyone that has ever gone in there - the place is always immaculate - Verlaine smiles far more than she speaks - and we fed the whole Cohos Bash Crew the Best Bread at our 10th Anniversary Celebration, hot from the oven! Several made the comment that it was the best they'd ever had! I buy fresh yeast there by the bag, flax seeds and cinnamon - all at a much cheaper price than at the supermarkets.... and the list goes on and on....But.... What irks me most is - WHY is this woman having such a hard time getting back into this country to do what she does so well (and trying to do it legally) while there are so many illegal aliens here without any Visa's at all and we're supporting them? Makes No Sense!

Anyway- Several letters have been written in Verlaine's defense and I just wrote mine.

If you'd like to help support by sending your letter, send it to:

Office of U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen

If she isn't granted this E2 Visa then Marc will be closing the bakery and heading back to France to be with her. Let's not let this happen!

>:( They do make awesome bread! What a shame--we'll be happy to send a letter on her behalf. What a brilliant idea --make a business close in an area that is already depressed economically.

I'm not shocked by any means --she's an easy target. It would be WAY too much work to go after the illegals. They can just sit at their desks and take care of this one!! Let's see...provides a service to the community...supports community functions...provides a tax base...here in the states legally...oh, OK...I understand ::) Maybe the ACLU could help...oh, no, I forgot...they only help the illegals!

Not impressed by the "change" so far!
